Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) Online Seminary Offers Heartfelt Felicitations on the 5th of Sha’bān, the Birthday Anniversary of Imam Sajjad (peace be upon him)
The Imam was born in Medina in the year 38 AH. His father, Imam Husain (peace be upon him) named him Ali due to the affection he had towards his father, Imam Ali (peace be upon him).
The Imam was chosen by Allah to carry the weight of Imamate after the martyrdom of his Father in Karbala. He, along with Lady Zainab (peace be upon her) played an important role in promoting and protecting the message of Islam.
He was arguably the best in all good traits. In knowledge he was known as the ‘ocean of knowledge’, in worship he was termed as ‘the adornment of the worshippers’. In charity he used to hide his face and provide for the needy, which the world found out only after his martyrdom, about his self-control, it is said that when a slave poured a dish of soup over him, he refrained from punishing her, instead gave her freedom and last but not the least he treated those who wronged him magnanimously. Hisham ibn Isma'il al-Makhzumi governed four years in Medina, during which he used to insult the Imam (peace be upon him), yet after he was dismissed by al-Walid, the Imam (peace be upon him) ordered his family and friends not to speak ill of him.
The Imam (peace be upon him) granted humanity the voice to invoke Allah. The supplications of Sajjadiyah, the fifteen whispered prayers, the supplication of Abu Hamza Thumali are just a few famous ones.
On this blessed day, we ask Allah to hasten the reappearance of our Imam and to grant us the way of our beloved Imam, Imam Zainul Abidin (peace be upon him).
