Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) Online Seminary offers Heartfelt Condolences on the Martyrdom Anniversary of Imam Kadhim (peace be upon him)
O Allah, send blessings upon Musa, the son of Jafar (peace be upon them) the one who was accustomed to ordeals and endurance, and he was persecuted wrongfully, entombed unjustly, and tortured in the bottom of jails and darkness of cells.
Indeed, the Imam was prisoned multiple times from one prison to the other by the tyrant ruler. It was narrated that the final imprisonment was like a grave where it would be difficult to distinguish night from day. The prison guard named Sindhi was a ruthless person who took pride in hurting and torturing the Imam. He eventually poisoned the Imam (peace be upon him) by feeding him poisonous dates.
The enemy thought that through torture and imprisonment they would be able to diminish the light of Allah, ignorant of the fact that He has intended to complete His light much to their dislike. Allah made him the door of wishes, ‘Baab al-Muraad’ thereby inviting all humanity to come through the door of Imam Kadhim (peace be upon him) to seek His pleasures.
Although his holy body was left on the bridge of Baghdad by the wretched Sindhi but today it is a center of the city of Kadhimain and many lovers of Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them) especially Shias visit him to acknowledge and revive their belief in his Imamate.
On this sad day, we ask Allah for the sake of the ‘door of wishes’ to grant us the opportunity to visit his holy shrine, and to hasten the reappearance of the Imam of our time.
