Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) online seminary offers heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of Muhammad ibn Uthman al-Amri (may Allah elevate his status), the second deputy the Imam of our time, Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance)

29th of Jamadi al-Awwal reminds us of Muhammad ibn Uthman al-Amri, the narrator of the beautiful Ziarat of Aali Yasin, the magnificent supplications of Simaat, Iftitah, etc. Indeed, a person having a lofty status of being a deputy of the Imam parted ways with the world today.

Deputy of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance)

Before the martyrdom of Imam Hasan Askari (a), he explicitly mentioned the deputyship of Muhammad ibn Uthman for Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance). When a group of Shia from Yemen visited Imam Askari (as), he called Uthman ibn Saeed, father of Muhammad ibn Uthman and said “Bear witness that Uthman ibn Saeed is my deputy and his son Muhammad ibn Uthman is the deputy of my son, al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance). Muhammad ibn Uthman held a special position due to the occultation of the Imam, as he was a cornerstone for the Shias worldwide answering their questions and nullifying the doubts raised against Islam and Shiism.

Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance) in one of his letters to Muhammad ibn Uthman praises him by saying: Your father has achieved complete happiness by having a son like you, that you should succeed him and take his position. Indeed, the Shias are happy with your position and with that which Allah has entrusted to you …

Sheikh Tusi, Allama Hilli, and other scholars have testified to the dignity and credibility of this great personality. He had informed about his death two months beforehand. He had made a grave for himself in advance and would every day go in it to recite a part of the Quran. People asked him the reason for digging his grave. He answered: "I’ve been told to complete my tasks and by the will of God I will die in two months. The prediction was correct and he was buried next to his mother's grave on the way to Kufa, west of Baghdad.
